Guidelines for using our website and services

These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the PawPal website, mobile application, and related services (“Services”). By accessing or using our Services, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use PawPal.

1. Introduction

PawPal provides software for managing pet-care bookings, operations, and related activities. These Terms apply to all users of our website and Services. 

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and capable of entering into a binding agreement under UK law. You are responsible for ensuring that your use of PawPal complies with all applicable laws. 

3. User Responsibilities

You must use the Services only for lawful purposes. You must not: 

• Upload or transmit harmful, offensive, or unlawful content 
• Attempt unauthorised access to PawPal systems 
• Interfere with the performance, availability, or security of the website 
• Use the Services in a manner that infringes the rights of others 

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that breach these requirements. 

4. Your Use of the Service

By using PawPal, you acknowledge that: 

• We process personal data in line with our Privacy Policy 
• Processing activities include account creation, bookings, communication, analytics, fraud prevention, and service improvement 
• You must read the Privacy Policy to understand how your data is collected and used 

All processing is carried out under the lawful bases permitted by the UK GDPR.

5. User Content

“User Content” includes photos, pet details, inspection data, notes, and other information you upload to the platform. 

By submitting User Content, you grant PawPal a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to: 

• Store and use the content for the purpose of delivering the Services 
• Display the content within your account 
• Process the content for operational and security reasons 

You confirm that: 

• You own or have the right to upload the content 
• Your content does not infringe third-party rights 

You remain the owner of all User Content.

6. Account Information

You must provide accurate and current information, including your name, email address, business details, and pet-related information. 

You must promptly update your details if they change. We are not responsible for problems caused by inaccurate or outdated information provided by you. 

You are responsible for: 

• Maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials 
• All activity that occurs under your account 

7. Intellectual Property

All intellectual property on the PawPal platform including text, graphics, logos, icons, software, and design elements is owned by PawPal or licensed to us. 

You must not: 

• Copy, modify, distribute, or reverse-engineer any part of the platform
• Use any PawPal trademarks without our written consent 

8. Data Protection & Privacy

We process personal data as a Data Controller under the UK GDPR and Data Protection Act 2018. 

You have rights including access, correction, deletion, restriction, data portability, and objection. Details are provided in our Privacy Policy and Data Processing Agreement.

We will never limit or exclude liability for breaches of data protection law. 

9. Subscription Fees and Payments

If your plan requires payment: 

• Fees are stated at checkout and may include VAT 
• You authorise us to charge your payment method for recurring subscription fees 
• Failure to pay may result in account suspension 

No refunds are provided unless required by law or clearly stated in your plan. 

10. Service Availability

We aim for high uptime but do not guarantee that the Services will be: 

• Available at all times 
• Free from errors, interruptions, or security issues 

We may suspend access for maintenance or security reasons. 

11. Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by UK law: 

• We do not limit our liability for death, personal injury, fraud, or breach of data protection law
• For all other claims, our total liability is limited to the subscription fees paid in the 30 days prior to the event giving rise to the claim 
• We are not liable for losses resulting from inaccurate or incomplete information provided by you
• We are not liable for business losses including loss of profits, revenue, goodwill, or data (except where legally prohibited) 

12 .Third-Party Services

The platform may contain links or integrations to third-party tools. These are provided for convenience only. PawPal is not responsible for any third-party services or their privacy practices. 

13. Suspension and Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account: 

• If you breach these Terms 
• If required by law or regulatory authorities 
• If your behaviour poses a risk to our platform or users 

You may close your account at any time by contacting us.

14. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms when necessary (for example, legal changes, new features, or operational needs). 

• Material changes will be notified via email or in-app notification 
• We will give at least 3 days’ notice before changes take effect 
• Continued use of the Services constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms

15. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. 

Any dispute must first be attempted to be resolved amicably. If unresolved, disputes shall be handled through binding arbitration under English arbitration rules.
